Yatton Keynell Parish Council have been awarded a grant by the Cotswold National Landscape’s – Caring for the Cotswold Scheme
Since we took over the amenity area behind Clarkes Leaze the grass area has bee maintained to a much better standard and protected rom unwanted traffic. We plan to plant fruit trees and bushes in those areas of less practical value and turn them into a real asset that the whole community can enjoy.
Cllr Danny Towl has been masterminding the plan and a s big first step he successfully applied for and obtained a grant of £1,000 from the Cotswold National Landscape’s Caring for the Cotswold Scheme to help cover the cost o the project.
This is intended to be very much a community project and we hope that people will join in and help with planting the trees, preparing wild flower areas, sowing seeds and over time enjoying some free apples and fruit.
As the plan matures we will keep everybody posted and ask for volunteers as and when needed. Danny already has an outline project plan so watch this space please.
